RIOT (Running Is Our Therapy) is the official running club of the residents of House of Hiranandani, OMR, Chennai. The group aims at promoting family fitness and brings Hiranandani residents together through community running. RIOT believes it is never too late to switch to a healthy and active lifestyle; it encourages residents of all age groups and fitness levels to improve their fitness through running. No matter what level of fitness one has, RIOT has a space for them. Our oldest member is 60 years old and the youngest is 7 years old. Seasoned runners and medical practitioners in the group oer to mentor and coach the participants for programs, such as couch to 5k for beginners and advanced running schedules for half & full marathoners. RIOT is the official running group in Hiranandani upscale and has over 60 active runners across age groups. To join RIOT Whatsapp group please sms 9840702672. Race Kit: Each registered participant will be given a race kit. It will include a good quality T-shirt, Bib & a bag. Kit Collection is only open on the race day on Saturday, March 11th, 2017 between 10.00 & 1.00 pm. Please bring your ticket copy/ email confirmation you may have received to collect your bib, T-shirt & other race related material. Please note that we will not have any distribution after 1.00 pm. If you cannot be there on the registration day to pick up your bib, you may request another person to collect your bib on your behalf. Your friend will need to bring a copy of your valid photo identification proof (self-attested by you) and a copy of this email or your email confirmation Race kit will be distributed at Decathalon only. Kindly do not request for exceptions.

Medal, Certificates Refreshments: All registered participants will get a medal & a certificate on the spot after completion. You will also receive light post run refreshments.

Prizes: For the first time we are introducing a few prizes this year. More details will be shared later

Pacers: Trained /Experienced runners can run at your pace. However, for beginners, there will be pacers who will help you complete the race. Pacers will be introduced at 5.00 pm tomorrow. There will be pacers for each category and for each gender/age group. Please avoid carrying the race kit while running.

Hydration: We have an aid station approximately every 1 km. Please hydrate well and use the aid stations to refresh and replenish. If you are not a regular runner, just remember to hydrate yourself well starting today & not just before the race.

Reporting Time: Reporting time is 4.30 pm for all categories. Please support us in organizing this better by reporting on time. And remember to pin your bibs to the t-shirt before the start.

The Route: The start and stop venue will be the football ground. The running route map around & within Hiranandani community. There will be race marshals of cycles guiding you along the course. There will be directional markers along the route for all categories of run types. Please watch for the proper trail markings during the run and follow them.

No Refund: Passes cannot be exchanged or refunded.

Be nice but vigilant: All participants are either residents or friends of our residents. However please do watch out for each other, especially kids. If you find anything disturbing don't hesitate in approaching one of the race marshals. Please do help each other. Given that there will be over 400 runners, parents are requested to accompany their children to avoid any confusions. If you find someone running/walking faster than you please allow them to overtake you. It’s not a race but it’s just a run for fun.

Participant Waiver for Race Registration I know that running a road race is potentially hazardous activity, which could cause injury. I will not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained, and by my signature, I certify that I am medically able to perform this event, and am in good health, and I am properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to any aspect of my participation in this event, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I attest that I have read the rules of the race and agree to abide by them. I assume all risks associated with running in this event, including but no limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. I understand that bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers, roller skates or roller blades, animals, and personal music players are not allowed in the race and I will abide by all race rules. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the RIOT & the other organisers of RIOT-A-THON, all event sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use my photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose Withdrawal Policy I agree to accept the terms of RIOT-A-THON’s withdrawal policy which are that event entries are not transferable to any other event and refunds will not be issued for any reason whatsoever other than at the discretion of RIOT. Run mementos given out on the day of the RIOT-A-THON cannot be made available to entrants who do not attend the Run or who withdraw from the event. RIOT uses email to communicate with its participants. By entering this event, I agree to receive emails regarding this specific event. RIOT cannot be responsible if event information does not reach the intended recipient by email. RIOT can only be responsible for ensuring that emails are sent to the email address provided Start Time RIOT reserves the right to alter the start time of the event with as much notice to entrants as reasonably practicable. I agree that no refund in full or in part shall be made for any change in start time for an event provided the event takes place on the specified date of the event. Run Format Alterations or Cancellations RIOT reserves the right to cancel the event due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control or for any safety-related reason. Should the event be canceled with no rescheduled/postponed date offered by RIOT then I agree that RIOT will provide with a full refund less any charges associated with the processing of such refunds with no further liability whatsoever arising from such cancellation. If the event is rescheduled for an alternative future date and I am unable to attend the rescheduled event date, I understand that I will not be entitled to claim a refund and that there will be no further liability whatsoever arising from such change of date. I understand that RIOT may offer to defer my entry to an alternative future event if I am unable to attend the rescheduled event. However, I agree that this will be solely at the discretion of RIOT and will be subject to an administration fee equal to that for deferral due to injury. Final Decision All decisions by RIOT is considered final. Accordingly, I agree to comply with all event rules and all instructions and guidelines given by RIOT-A-THON Running crew, stewards, marshals, and safety personnel.
